Be sure to serve borscht to the table with sour cream and a handful of herbs, it will also be delicious with garlic donuts and sliced salad. Borscht as lunch is just a great solution for the whole family.

- Broth - 2 Liters (chicken or meat)
- Potatoes - 3 Pieces
- Carrots - 1 Piece
- Onions - 1 Piece
- Sweet Pepper - 2 Pieces
- Beets - 1 Piece
- Tomato paste - 2 Tbsp. spoons
- Tomato - 250 Milliliters
- Brisket - 100 Grams
- Smoked brisket - 100 grams
- Cabbage - 250 Grams
- Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. spoons
- Sugar - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - To taste
- Pepper - To taste

How to cook "Cossack borscht"

Prepare all ingredients. Peel, wash and dry the vegetables.

Cut the potatoes into small cubes.

Prepare the broth in advance, cook it for at least 1.5-2 hours. Chicken, beef, pork - choose according to your taste.

Transfer the potatoes to a saucepan with broth, cook for 20 minutes from the moment of boiling.

Peel and cut the onion into cubes, also cut two types of brisket into small pieces - regular and smoked.

Peel and wash the carrots, grate on a medium grater.

Peel and wash the beets, also grate, similar to carrots.

Prepare the dressing immediately. Transfer one chopped pepper, tomato juice and pasta to a blender bowl.

Grind everything until smooth.

Heat a spoonful of oil in a skillet. Arrange the brisket and onion. Fry for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add carrots, beets, sugar to the pan. Fry the vegetables for another 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the blender dressing to the pan, simmer the vegetables for 5 minutes under the lid.

Chop the cabbage and prepare the second pepper. When the potatoes are ready, transfer the dressing from the pan and the cabbage and pepper to the broth.

Disassemble the meat or chicken into pieces and return to the saucepan.

Cook the borscht for another 15-20 minutes over low heat, do not forget to add salt and pepper to taste.
