Ingredients:
- Egg - 1 Piece
- Butter - 50 grams
- Honey - 1 tbsp. spoon (with a slide)
- Sugar - 1/2 Cup
- Flour - 1.5 Cups
- Soda - 1/2 Teaspoon
- Spices - To taste (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg)

How to cook "Steamed Honey Gingerbread"

Prepare all ingredients.

Combine egg, butter, honey and sugar in a deep bowl.

Put in a water bath, heat until all the ingredients are dissolved, add baking soda and as soon as foam appears, remove the bowl from heat.

Add spices to taste and flour.

Knead a soft dough.

Pinch off pieces of dough and form into balls a little larger than a walnut. Put all the workpieces at some distance from each other on the oiled steamer grate.

Steam the honey cakes for 30-40 minutes. If desired, the gingerbread cookies can be decorated with any icing or simply sprinkled with powdered sugar.
