It is said that the recipe for this cake was invented by American housewives during the Great Depression. There were few funds in the families, but they wanted something tasty. So this simple, cheap, but very tasty cake appeared. It is prepared very easily. You can decorate the cake to your liking.

- Wheat flour - 1.5 Glasses
- Cocoa powder - 6 tbsp. spoons (4 tablespoons - in the dough, 2 tablespoons - in the glaze)
- Sugar - 230 grams (200 grams - in the dough, 30 grams - in the glaze)
- Soda - 1 Teaspoon (no slide)
- Cold water - 1 Glass
- Sunflower oil - 0.5 cups
- Butter - 20 grams (in glaze)
- Milk - 3-4 Art. spoons (in glaze)
How to make American Crazy Cake
Prepare the ingredients for making the cake.
Pour flour into a bowl.
Add 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
Pour in cold or room temperature water and refined sunflower oil.
Add baking soda, quenched with vinegar or lemon juice.
Stir the dough thoroughly with a whisk or mixer and pour into a baking dish. The diameter of my mold is 18 centimeters.
Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 175-180 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Check readiness with a dry wooden stick. When pricked in the middle of the cake, it should come out dry.
While the cake is cooling, cook the icing. Put two tablespoons of cocoa powder and two tablespoons of sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
Add milk and butter.
Whilst constantly stirring, bring the mixture to a creamy consistency. Refrigerate afterwards.
Cover the cooled cake with chocolate icing and sprinkle with nuts or cookies.
Cut "Crazy cake" and serve for dessert for tea, coffee.
