It is not necessary to buy pita bread in the store, because you can easily cook it yourself, in just 10-15 minutes, but do not forget that the dough takes about 25-30 minutes to activate the gluten. The best option is to prepare the dough in advance and fry the pita bread just before serving.

How to make "Homemade wholegrain lavash"

Prepare the indicated ingredients.

Pour the whole grain flour into a deep bowl and add salt there. If desired, at this moment, you can add other ground seasonings: thyme, rosemary, etc.

Pour in vegetable oil: olive, sunflower, corn, but odorless.

Pour in warm water and start kneading the dough.

After about 5-7 minutes, it can be assembled into a tight bun. Cover the dough with cling film and leave for 25-30 minutes.

Then cut it into pieces and roll each piece into a thin layer, dusting the work surface with premium wheat flour.

Heat a wide skillet and reduce heat to medium. Place the rolled layer in a skillet and bake for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Flip over to the other side and bake for the same amount of time. Be careful - there will be no golden blush, like on a pita made from premium wheat flour - the scorching will immediately burn, so watch out for baking.

Put the finished pita bread on a plate, immediately sprinkle with water from a spray bottle and cover with a towel, otherwise they will dry out when they cool and become brittle, crispy.
