Prepare the ingredients for making capelin in tomato sauce.
Clean the capelin from the insides, cut off the heads. Rinse the fish.
Salt and pepper the capelin.
Season the fish in flour on all sides and fry on both sides in a skillet with oil. Cook quickly, 2 minutes on each side.
Pour tomato paste diluted with water into the pan. Simmer the capelin over low heat for another 5-7 minutes.
