You can make gingerbread cookies from jam for a family tea party or as a hearty breakfast, serving them with milk or hot cocoa. Any jam can be used: apricot, peach, plum, cherry, etc. I have a strawberry version today. The taste of the gingerbread will directly depend on the selected jam, each time you can get a new and interesting option for baking at the exit.
Purpose: For an afternoon snack
Main Ingredient: Flour
Dish: Baking / Gingerbread / Sweet
- Jam - 0.5 cups
- Butter - 2 tbsp. spoons (melted)
- Soda - 0.5 Teaspoons
- Flour - 1.5 Cups
How to make Gingerbread Jam
Prepare all ingredients.
Transfer the jam to a deep bowl.
Grind the jam with a blender until smooth.
Add melted butter and baking soda.
Stir and add flour in portions.
Knead to a soft, non-sticky dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Then sprinkle the work surface with flour and roll the dough into a layer 1 cm thick. Using molds or an ordinary glass, cut out the blanks. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
The gingerbread cookies are ready.
Before serving, sprinkle the cakes with icing sugar or glaze. Enjoy your meal!
If desired, you can add coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and any other spices to the dough.
