The most famous Soviet homemade delicacy is brushwood! It was fried in every home and cooked for all the holidays. But the most delicious brushwood is made on cognac, be sure to try to make it and treat your relatives. Remember that this dessert is never enough, so prepare several servings to make sure everyone has enough!
Purpose: For an afternoon snack
Main Ingredient: Flour
Dish: Baking / Brushwood / Sweet
- Chicken Egg - 2 Pieces
- Sugar - 2 Tbsp. spoons
- Salt - 1 Pinch
- Wheat flour - 2 Glasses
- Water - 50 Milliliters
- Cognac - 1.5 Art. spoons
- Vegetable oil - 1 Glass
How to cook "Brushwood on cognac"
Prepare the indicated ingredients.
Beat the eggs into a deep container, add granulated sugar and salt, beat thoroughly. At this point, you can add vanilla sugar or flavoring to make the brushwood not only mouth-watering, but also very flavorful.
Pour water and brandy into the container, beat everything again and add premium wheat flour. Knead the dough firmly, leaving a little flour to dust the work surface. Cover the dough with cling film and leave for 20 minutes to activate the gluten.
Then divide it into parts and roll each of them into a layer no more than 0.5 cm thick. Cut the layer vertically and then horizontally to make small rectangles.
In the middle of each rectangle, make a notch, but not completely, and turn one edge of the workpiece into the cut, turning it back. Do such manipulations with the rest of the blanks.
Heat odorless vegetable oil in a cauldron or in a ladle with a non-stick bottom and dip 5-6 blanks into it. Do not add much, as they will grow in size. Fry for about a minute on each side until golden brown. Remember that the oil should be practically boiling, proceed with caution!
Gently remove the brushwood with a slotted spoon onto a plate or bowl and sprinkle with powdered sugar. As soon as it cools, it becomes crispy and brittle.
Call all relatives and serve dessert to the table.
