Below I will explain in more detail how to make chili tofu. Chili peppers can be substituted for chili paste or ground dried hot peppers. Choose the amount of pepper to your taste. The dish can be made very spicy or moderate. Tofu for this recipe is best for firm or medium density. This tofu can be served as a stand-alone snack or with boiled rice as a side dish.

Ingredients:
- Tofu - 200 Grams
- Chili pepper - 1 Piece
- Corn starch - 1.5 Teaspoons
- Water - 3 Art. spoons
- Soy sauce - 1 Tbsp. the spoon
- Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. the spoon
- Cherry tomatoes - 4-5 Pieces
- Garlic - 2-3 Cloves
- Ginger - 10 Grams
- Vegetable oil - 200 Milliliters (for frying)
- Spinach - 20 Grams

How to cook "Chili Tofu"

Prepare all ingredients.

Cut the tofu into medium sized cubes. If the tofu gives off a lot of liquid, blot it with paper towels.

Mix 1 tsp. starch with 2 tbsp. water.

Dip tofu in this mixture.

Heat a skillet with oil over medium heat. Fry the tofu in oil until golden brown. Then place the tofu on a paper towel.

Drain off the oil, leaving only a little at the bottom. Chop the ginger and garlic finely. Saute a little, then add the chili peppers, tomato paste and tomatoes. Fry for a couple of minutes until tender.

Wash the spinach, dry and tear with your hands. Add it to vegetables and simmer for a minute until tender.

Then add the tofu, soy sauce and 1/2 tsp. starch diluted with 1 tbsp. water. Stir, simmer everything together until the sauce thickens.

Chili tofu is ready, bon appetit!
