How to cook "Lenten Ukrainian borscht"
Prepare your ingredients.
Boil water, add salt to taste, add potatoes, cut into cubes, into a saucepan.
Then add the chopped cabbage.
Cook the borscht over medium heat for 15 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
Peel the onions and carrots. Dice the onion and coarsely grate the carrots.
Grate the peeled beets also on a coarse grater.
Saute the onions and carrots in a skillet with oil.
Then add beets and tomato juice. Simmer the frying for 5-7 minutes over low heat.
Pour the finished frying into the borscht, mix and cook for 5 minutes.
