How to make Fish Strudel

Prepare all ingredients.

Sift the flour into a deep bowl.

Add egg, vegetable oil, water and 0.5 tsp. salt.

Mix everything and knead the dough. It may take a little more flour, the finished dough should not stick to your hands and at the same time should remain soft and elastic. Gather the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Cut the onion into cubes and fry until soft in butter. Add spinach and cook everything together for a couple of minutes. If you have frozen spinach, then squeeze it first.

Fish, if necessary, cut into fillets and cut into slices.

Add grated cheese to the fish.

Add spinach sautéed with onions. You can add an egg (leftover dough). Season everything with salt and pepper to taste.

Then mix well. The filling is ready.

Lubricate the table surface and rolling pin with vegetable oil. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, the thinner it is, the better!

Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the dough and spread the filling evenly on top, stepping back slightly from one edge. Then fold the edges on three sides as in the photo, and roll up a tight roll.

Gently transfer the roll to a baking sheet lined with parchment. Brush with egg yolk and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.

The fish strudel is ready. Wrap it in a towel, let it cool slightly, and then serve.

Enjoy your meal!
Chef's advice:
You can replace homemade dough with ready-made puff pastry, but keep in mind that the filling in this case may take a little less.
