How to cook "Borscht with ginger"
Prepare the indicated ingredients.
Peel the potatoes, rinse and cut into medium cubes. Put the slices in a saucepan, cover with warm water, add bay leaves. Place the container on the stove, bring its contents to a boil, remove the foam. Boil the potatoes for about 10 minutes.
Peel the rest of the root vegetables, rinse in water, cut into small cubes. If desired, beets and carrots can be grated with large cells. Sauté the vegetable slices in vegetable oil in a skillet for about 5 minutes.
Put the fried vegetable dressing in a saucepan with boiled potatoes, stir, salt, add sugar. Boil for another 5 minutes.
Chop white cabbage, add to the saucepan. Pour in lemon juice immediately, otherwise the cabbage will "draw out" the color of the borscht.
Peel the ginger root, cut it into small cubes or grate with fine cells, add to the borscht.
Pour in the washed chopped greens: dill, parsley, etc., mix, and boil the borscht for another 1-2 minutes. Taste it.
Pour the soup into deep bowls and serve with bread, savory pastries and sour cream.
