We usually use pork for smoking. You can take pork with layers of lard or just lard. For this amount of marinade, 3-4 kg are suitable. Smoked bacon can be served with a festive table or as a daily snack.

How to prepare "Marinade for smoking bacon"
Prepare all the ingredients you need to make the marinade. Peel and sort the garlic into wedges.
Pour water into a large, wide saucepan and add salt and sugar. Add pepper. Chop the garlic cloves and add to the marinade.
Then add the dry basil and the bay leaf that has been crushed into pieces. Put the saucepan on the fire and bring to a boil.
When the marinade boils, remove from heat and cool. Marinade is ready! Soak meat or lard in it for 2-3 days. Then rinse the meat and hang it for a day to dry it out. And all that remains is to accumulate it in the smokehouse.
Lard cooked in this marinade is moderately salty and very tender.
