How to make Sugar Crystals on a Stick

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for growing crystals on a stick.

To get started, pour 1/4 cup of the total amount of water into a saucepan and add 2 rounded tablespoons of sugar. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil. Cook until sugar is completely dissolved, cool.

Lower the prepared skewers (I have short wooden kebab skewers) and roll them in granulated sugar. The sand should be firmly and evenly distributed on the stick. Put the blanks on a dish and leave to dry for 24 hours.

Pour the remaining water into a saucepan and add one glass of sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour in the remaining sugar, stir and bring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

Take tall glasses and add some food coloring. The more you add, the brighter your crystals will be.

Pour in the sugar syrup and stir until smooth. Cut out circles larger than the diameter of the glasses from a sheet of thick paper. Pierce the circles in the middle and dip the sugar side into the glasses. The sticks should not touch the bottom and walls. We leave them like this for two weeks. Just be careful not to crust the top, break it up if necessary.

This is how the sticks look in a week.

But they get like this in two weeks. Carefully remove and place them on a plate at a distance from each other. At the beginning, the remaining syrup will drain from them, and they may be stained with other flowers. We leave them like this until completely dry. I’m already completely dry.

Our crystals on a stick are ready.
