Traveling around the Czech Republic, in any hotel for breakfast you will definitely be served bagels, on which you can spread butter, jam or make a sandwich with sausage or cheese. You can buy them at any bakery, as it is one of the most popular types of bread. And you can easily cook at home, in a step-by-step recipe it is described in detail how to do it. There are variations in the form of preparation, but the taste is absolutely identical.

Ingredients:
- Warm water - 250 Milliliters
- Butter - 3 Tbsp. spoons (softened)
- Yeast - 7 Grams (dry, fast acting)
- Wheat flour - 500 grams (bakery)
- Salt - 1 Teaspoon (10 grams)
- Sugar - 1 Teaspoon (10 grams)
- Coarse salt, sesame seeds, caraway seeds, poppy seeds - 1 tbsp. spoon (optional)

How to make "Czech bread"

Prepare your ingredients.

Sift flour into a bowl for kneading dough, add salt, sugar, dry yeast, mix.

Pour in warm water, add softened butter.

Knead the dough, knead for 5-10 minutes. Cover the dough with plastic wrap, place in a warm place for proofing for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, the dough has increased significantly in volume, proceed to the preparation of bagels.

Divide the dough into 2 portions for convenience. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, divide into 8 pieces in the form of triangles.

Make a small notch at the base of the triangle and roll into a bagel.

Place the bagels on a baking sheet, sprinkle with water and proof for 1 hour. Then sprinkle with water again, sprinkle on top of your choice: poppy seeds, coarse sea salt, sesame seeds or poppy seeds, or you can not sprinkle with anything. Bake the first 5-7 minutes with steam at 250 degrees, then lower the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

Premade bagels are a great base for both sweet and savory sandwiches. It is delicious!
