How to cook "Dumplings with cabbage and lard"

Prepare the ingredients for making the dough.

Prepare the ingredients for the cabbage filling.

Cut one onion into cubes and grate the carrots.

Fry the carrots and onions in vegetable oil until soft over medium heat.

Chop the cabbage into strips for the filling.

Add the cabbage to the vegetable skillet.

Saute the cabbage with vegetables over low heat for 8-10 minutes, until the cabbage is tender. Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste.

Add tomato paste.

Simmer the cabbage for another 3-4 minutes and the filling is ready. Cool her down.

Pour salt into kefir at room temperature, stir.

Add baking soda and stir again. Leave the kefir for 20-30 seconds, bubbles will appear on its surface - the soda has begun to play.

Then add flour in portions and gently stir the dough.

Knead a soft dough. Leave it to rest under a towel for 15 minutes.

Then divide the dough into small balls, about 8-9 pieces. Roll each ball thinner, put a spoonful of cabbage filling in the center.

Pinch the edges of the dumplings, you can make them curly.

Boil water in a saucepan (about half the volume and a little more), add a little salt and send the dumplings to simmer. Stir gently right away to prevent the dumplings from sticking to the bottom of the pot. After they come up, cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring several times.

While the dumplings are boiling, cook the fry, cut the bacon into cubes and fry it in a pan until the fat is melted.

Add finely chopped onions and sauté everything together until golden brown.

Put the finished dumplings into portioned dishes and pour over the fry with lard and onions.

Enjoy your meal!
