Cooking description:
You can cook a citrus pie even for a family tea party, even for the arrival of unexpected guests. Delicate, fragrant, with a slightly damp texture, everyone will love it! The zest is a real storehouse of vitamins, but in addition to the zest, the juice will also go to baked goods. This cake will be an excellent addition to your meal at any time of the year, and especially in winter! By the way, if you add a little cardamom and cinnamon to the dough, it will acquire a slightly oriental taste. Give it a try!

How to make Citrus Pie

Prepare all ingredients.

Wash the lemon and orange thoroughly, dry and remove the zest. Then squeeze the juice and strain (I got 100 ml.).

Separate the yolks from the whites, add sugar to them and beat well.

Then add softened butter, zest and citrus juice to the egg mass.

Whisk everything together again.

Add flour and baking powder.

Stir until smooth and add whipped egg whites. Beat the whites in a separate bowl with a pinch of salt, until firm foam.

Stir everything with a spatula in an upward motion and transfer the dough to a greased baking dish. Cover the bottom and sides with parchment or sprinkle with semolina. Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for about 60 minutes.

The citrus pie is ready.

You can sprinkle it with icing sugar before serving. Enjoy your meal!
