Herring under a fur coat is a simple salad that has not been considered a festive one for a long time. But if you add mackerel instead of herring, it will still turn out more original and unusual. If you want to diversify the taste of the salad even more, add a layer of boiled eggs grated on a fine grater after the carrots - it will also be delicious. I strongly advise you to grate all vegetables on a fine grater, then the salad turns out to be more tender. Try it!

How to cook "Mackerel under a fur coat"
Prepare all the ingredients you need. Pre-boil vegetables (potatoes, beets and carrots) until soft.
Rinse the mackerel, remove the head and entrails, remove the skin, separate the meat from the bones. Cut the meat into small cubes.
Take a flat plate of a suitable size. Grate potatoes on a fine grater, lay out in the first layer. Lightly grease with mayonnaise on top.
Place the chopped mackerel in the next layer. Top with finely chopped onion. I use blue onions, they are less pungent, sweeter, and you do not need to pickle them. But if you are using regular onions, I advise you to marinate them in a mixture of vinegar, water and sugar for 15 minutes.
Cover the previous layer with mayonnaise, put the carrots grated on a fine grater and brush again with mayonnaise.
The last layer is beets, grated on a fine grater. From above it can be completely greased with mayonnaise, or covered only with a net of mayonnaise, in any case it will be beautiful and tasty.
Place the parsley around the edge of the salad. Or decorate as you see fit. Enjoy your meal!
