It is customary to cook such pastries in Baku for Novruz - a holiday of spring or the vernal equinox. According to tradition, these slightly sickle cakes symbolize the Moon or Crescent. The word “shaker-bura” itself is translated from Turkish as “sweet little pie”.

Prepare the dough first. In a bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients: dry yeast, flour and sugar, then pour in warm water, stir until smooth and leave in a warm place for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter over low heat and heat the milk separately.

In a large bowl, combine egg yolks (room temperature), warm melted butter, warm milk, vanilla sugar, and salt. Add the matched brew and stir again.
