1 Put the oatmeal in a jar and cover with boiling water, stir well. 2 Leave to cool, then add a slice of rye bread, stir again. 3 Leave the contents of the jar to swell for eight hours or overnight. 4 After the required time, fold the contents of the jar onto a sieve, and put a saucepan or stewpan under the bottom, squeeze the contents well. 5 Put the saucepan on fire, simmer over low heat until thick. 6 Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a towel and leave to cool, then refrigerate until it cools completely. 7 Before serving, add a few drops of honey or a little sugar and stir.
